Meet Ganga
Ganga Thapa is a musician, composer, multi-instrumentalist and producer originating from Nepal. His ongoing interest in Nepali, Indian classical and West African music has led to a number of collaborations internationally. He released his debut album ‘Namlo’ in 2017, which merged melodies and rhythms inspired by the diverse folk traditions, cultures and landscapes of Nepal. Ganga has been featured on BBC and played at the Southbank Centre, Liberty Festival, BT River Music Festival, London Jazz Festival, amongst others. He produced Sounds of the World live music concert series in partnership with British Arts Council, London. He is a registered Guitar Tutor of ABRSM and London College of Music.
Since moving back to Nepal, he launched Namlo Music Hub and brought his dynamic arrangements to the folk music scene in Kathmandu. Some of his productions include Jaar, Jaari, Ghumi Ghumi, Baaf, Aakha, and Vauju.
